WITT high pressure float regulators
WITT high pressure float regulators offer a simple, mechanical solution to expand refrigerant from the high to the low pressure side.

  • Highest safety and no operation failures, because the WITT high pressure float regulator acts solely mechanically.
  • Simple and robust overall concept of the entire refrigeration system without the need of additional cables or controls.
  • Efficient operation, because the refrigerant is passed from the internal float when needed. Therefore low condensing temperatures without additional controls can be realized.
In contrast to an operation with expansion valves neither subcooling of the condensate nor desuperheating of the refrigerant vapour at the evaporator outlet is required.

Due to an internal low pressure nozzle (except the HR1BW type) that connects the gas area of the inside with the outlet connection, a slight under pressure is present in the housing.
Therefore it is possible to place the float regulator up to 3 m above and up to 30 m away from the condenser.

HP float regulator with hot gas defrosting
  By means of high pressure float regulators during the hot gas defrosting of evaporators the effectivity can be energetically optimised by the correct layout of the regulators. As the float regulator lets pass only condensed liquid on the low pressure side, the energy dissipation by hot gas, which streams to the low pressure side unused, is prevented.
As a rule of thumb serves the refrigerating capacity of the condensers, which have to be defrosted at the same time, multiplied by factor 2.

The WITT high pressure float regulator type HR is available in 4 manufactured sizes HR1 till HR4 in the pressure stage PN25.

The individual assembly groups of the float regulators such as cover plate, housing or control unit are in stock. Therefore a large number of variants can be assembled for you shortly.
The housings are equipped with different control units depending on the application.

X = very high pressure difference (only available with HR2 & HR3)
SK = very high pressure difference (only available with HR4)
H = high pressure difference
M = medium pressure difference
L = small pressure difference, e.g. from medium pressure to low pressure

The influence of the refrigerant’s density on the lifting force of the control unit is regarded by the correct choice of the N or R float ball.

The WITT high pressure float regulator type HS is available in 2 manufactured sizes HS3x and HS4x in the pressure stage PN40.
The x in the second place gives information about the selected control unit and if the float regulator is executed with or without a low-pressure nozzle.

Additionally you also have the opportunity to get the housing of the HS series in 3 options.

        connections = inlet connection & outlet connection (ASTM)
        valves = inlet valve & outlet valve


Due to the special design of the HS float regulators these regulators are very suitable for CO2 applications as well as for the direct mounting underneath the plate-type condensers.

The WITT high pressure float regulator for heat pumps type WP is available in 2 manufactured sizes, namely WP2HR in the pressure stage PN40 and WP3HR in the pressure stage PN65.

The series WP is especially adapted to the application at very high condensing temperatures and the increased requirements resulting from it.

HP float regulator as condensate drain type HR1BW
  The WITT high pressure float regulator type HR1BW is applied for the drainage of accumulated condensate e.g. in hot gas lines. This regulator leads the possibly incoming liquid to the low pressure side and therefore prevents damages of the equipment
by liquid slugging.
